STYRON X-TECH™ Polystyrene Resin

The STYRON X-TECH™ Polystyrene Resin platform, developed by Trinseo, features advanced proprietary technology that provides very high melt strength for both HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) and GPPS (General Purpose Polystyrene). This technology enhances the performance characteristics of end applications.

The first product in this line, STYRON X-TECH™ 2175 Polystyrene Resin, is designed to meet the home appliance market's demand for better-performing liners. By combining high stiffness with very high melt strength, it allows for reduced liner thickness in freezers and refrigerators. The enhanced thermoformability offers several benefits, including:

• Improved wall thickness distribution

• Broader processing windows

• Faster cycle times

• Better thermoforming features

• Improved rigidity and Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (ESCR)

• Advanced down-gauging, resulting in cost savings of up to 10%
