Chemical Purging

Foaming agents are used to enhance the purge and clean hard-to-reach or negative flow areas. Soaking (stopping the screw) is needed, and popping noises will occur as part of the normal purging protocol.

Mechanical Purging

Mechanical purging relies on shear force and viscosity, along with additives and fillers, to clean. It does not require soaking (keeping it still in the barrel) and does not create popping sounds as part of the process.
