TRINSEO® Polystyrene: Versatile and Affordable

Polystyrene is one of the oldest plastics in the world, yet it remains widely used due to its affordability and outstanding properties. General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS) is known for its transparency, while High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is valued for its impact resistance.

• Easy to shape, print, and emboss

• Low shrinkage

• Approved for food contact

TRINSEO® High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) Advantages:

• Good impact resistance

• Opaque and easy to colour

• Low shrinkage

• Approved for food contact

Polystyrene High Impact (HIPS) tends to have low Environmental Stress Cracking Resistance (ESCR). However, TRINSEO offers both GPPS and HIPS, along with specialised grades that feature enhanced properties.
