Rilsan® HT: A Groundbreaking High-Temperature Polyphthalamide

Rilsan® HT is an entirely new polyphtalamide (PPA)-based high-temperature material of vegetable origin. It is the first flexible PPA designed to replace metal in high-temperature automotive and industrial tubing applications, opening up new possibilities for metal substitution that were previously unimaginable.

Long-Term High-Temperature and Chemical Resistance

Rilsan® HT surpasses other high-temperature thermoplastics with superior long-term resistance to thermo-oxidative and chemical ageing at high temperatures. This innovative class of flexible, partially bio-based PPA offers the high-temperature resistance typical of conventional PPA grades, but with an unprecedented level of flexibility.

Key Properties of Rilsan® HT:

  • Flexibility: The first flexible PPA to replace metal in tubing.
  • Processability: Offers processing characteristics similar to aliphatic PA, ensuring easy and cost-efficient manufacturing, lowering overall system costs, and featuring high design flexibility.
  • Integrity of Mechanical Properties at High Temperatures: Maintains mechanical properties even at high temperatures.
    Spin-Welding: The only PPA-based material that is spin-weldable on aliphatic PA.
  • Conductive Injection Grade: Balances high-temperature resistance and excellent mechanical properties with conductivity.
    Biobased: Fits perfectly into eco-design concepts.
  • Low Water Absorption: Ensures dimensional stability.
    Lightweight: Low density.

Rilsan® HT is a groundbreaking material that offers long-term thermal oxidation resistance and chemical ageing at high temperatures, low water absorption, lightweight, easy processing using the same equipment as PA11 and PA12, and flexibility.
