Hostaform® Acetal Copolymer (POM) - High Strength and Chemical Resistance

Hostaform® acetal copolymer (POM), supplied by Celanese®, possesses a linear structure with a highly crystalline quality that provides a variety of characteristics: outstanding wear, long-term fatigue, toughness, and creep resistance, as well as excellent resistance to moisture, solvents, and strong alkalis. Its chemical structure offers higher stability to thermal and oxidative degradation compared to acetal homopolymers.

Product Properties:

• Very tough (to -40°C)

• Very hard and rigid

• Easy colourisation

• Good heat distortion temperature (to 100°C)

• Very good slip/wear properties

• Excellent chemical resistance to fuels, solvents, and strong alkalis

• Excellent resilience

• Low moisture absorption

• Resistant to stress cracking

• Basic

• Easy flow

• Glass fibre and glass sphere reinforced

• Improved low friction and wear-resistant property

• High impact

• Medical technology (MT®)

• Low odour emission

• Most comply with FDA and EU regulations

• Improved resistance to aggressive cleaning agents or chlorinated water

• Hot diesel-resistant

• UV stabilised

• Electrically conductive

• Gas- and water-injection technology (GIT/WIT)

Most grades comply with FDA and EU food contact regulations (2002/72 EC), and standard Hostaform products have successfully passed drinking water testing at WRAS, KTW, and NSF. MT grades, with an active Drug Master File (No. 11559), comply with USP Class VI guidelines. All Hostaform products are also available in a wide array of colours that do not contain heavy metals.
