HFDB-0801 BK EHV EXP1 is a vulcanizable supersmooth semiconductive compound based on a polyethylene copolymer and is designed for conductor shield and bonded insulation shield applications in crosslinked polyethylene insulated high voltage and extra high voltage cables up to 500kV.
HFDB-0801 BK EHV EXP1 has stable volume resistivity characteristics at elevated temperatures and is formulated with a polymer system that has demonstrated compatibility with copper and aluminum conductors. HFDB-0801 BK EHV EXP1 was specifically developed utilizing a special acetylene carbon black to provide a supersmooth surface performance and yielding a more perfect interface between the extruded shield and the insulation. As a result, significantly improved cable performance and reduced stress enhancement can be expected.
HFDB-0801 BK EHV EXP1 is recommended for use in conjunction with DOW super-clean SC or EHV classification cross-linked polyethylene compound. For other polymer insulations the user is cautioned to establish the utility of DOW HFDB-0801 BK EHV EXP1 with each formulation.
