Kynar® Superflex Advanced Flexible PVDF Solutions for High-Performance Applications
As a distributor of Kynar® Superflex, a specialised grade in the Kynar® portfolio developed by Arkema, Resinex provides technically advanced fluoropolymer materials engineered for applications that require both chemical resistance and enhanced flexibility.
Kynar® Superflex is a flexible copolymer of PVDF (thermoplastic fluorinated polymer) that offers excellent mechanical strength, chemical stability, UV resistance, high purity, and thermal resistance.
The Superflex grades are specifically optimised for improved flexibility and resistance to dynamic mechanical stress, making it suitable for applications in wire and cable, flexible tubing and co-extrusion.
Mechanical Performance of Kynar® Superflex:
Improved elongation at break compared to standard PVDF grades.
High resistance to cyclic bending and vibration.
Good impact resistance, including at reduced temperatures.
Balanced stiffness-to-flexibility ratio for structural stability.
These properties make Kynar® Superflex particularly suitable for components exposed to movement, mechanical shock, or long-term dynamic loading.
Chemical Resistance of Kynar® Superflex:
Excellent resistance to a wide range of acids, bases and organic solvents.
Low permeability to many aggressive media.
Suitable for long-term exposure in corrosive environments.
The fluorinated polymer backbone ensures high chemical inertness and stability even under demanding process conditions.
Thermal & Environmental Stability of Kynar® Superflex:
Continuous service temperature typically up to approximately 140–150 °C.
Strong resistance to UV radiation and weathering.
Low flammability characteristics typical of PVDF materials.
The material retains its mechanical and dielectric properties over extended operational lifetimes, including outdoor applications.
Electrical Properties of Kynar® Superflex:
Good dielectric strength.
Stable insulating performance over a broad temperature range.
Suitable for wire and cable insulation where chemical and thermal resistance are required
Processing & Manufacturing Compatibility of Kynar® Superflex:
Kynar® Superflex can be processed using conventional thermoplastic techniques, including extrusion (tubing, profiles, cable jacketing), injection moulding and compression moulding.
The material offers good melt stability and consistent processing behaviour when handled under appropriate fluoropolymer processing conditions.
Kynar® Superflex Applications:
Flexible chemical transfer lines and tubing
Cable insulation in harsh industrial environments
Components exposed to aggressive fluids and mechanical stress
Flexible connectors and protective layers
Parts requiring a long service life in outdoor or high-UV conditions
