Chemical Purging

Foaming agents are used to enhance the purge as well as to clean hard-to-reach / negative flow areas. Soaking (stopping the screw) is needed and popping noises will accrue as a part of normal purging protocol.

Mechanical Purging

Rely on shear force and viscosity along with additives and fillers to clean. Does not required soaking (keeping it still in the barrel) and does not create popping sounds as part of the process.
