In Europe, production facilities are located in Burghausen, Gendorf, Cologne, Knapsack, and Schkopau in Germany, and Hillhouse in the United Kingdom. Steps to Produce PVC:

1. Production of VCM monomer

2. Polymerisation – forming PVC via suspension (PVC resin beads) or emulsion (PVC latex)

3. Drying and mixing – removing water and mixing with additives to enhance properties

4. Shaping – Extrusion or injection moulding to produce the desired application
