Processing
- Polyamide resins are hygroscopic, meaning they absorb water from direct immersion and humid air.
- The amount of water absorbed depends on exposure time, air temperature, and relative humidity.
- At the temperatures used to mould PA, moisture levels can cause visual flaws and brittleness of the moulded part.
- It is recommended that resin moisture content be limited to 0.12% when processing RavamidĀ® PA6 and PA66.
Mould Design
- Hot runners are not recommended for industrial quality RavamidĀ® grades.
- The gate diameter is recommended to have 80% wall thickness.
Typical RavamidĀ® PA Applications:
- Automotive parts
- Domestic appliances
- Electrical & lighting components
- Furniture industry
- Various other sectors
