Blow Moulding Process Steps:
1. Formation of Parison: The polymer is transformed into a parison, which is the preform of the final product.
2. Moulding and Sealing: Once the parison reaches the required length, it's encased in a hollow mould that seals tightly at the base.
3. Cutting: A knife trims the top of the parison just before the mould shifts laterally to a secondary station.
4. Air Inflation: Here, air is injected into the parison, expanding it to conform to the mould's interior contours.
5. Cooling and Ejection: Post-cooling, the mould opens to release the newly shaped article.
6. Productivity Enhancement: For increased production rates, a single extruder can supply multiple moulds.
Comparable to the glass bottle production process, this method utilises compressed air to force the molten parison to fill out the mould. This technique is a staple in manufacturing hollow plastic objects due to its efficiency and versatility.
