SURLYN™ Ionomers have long been a preferred choice for flexible packaging formats such as sachets, pillow pouches, flow-wrap packages, composite cans, and stand-up pouches. They are used in various food and non-food packaging, as well as pharmaceutical and medical packaging applications.

The inherent puncture resistance completes the package.

SURLYN™ Ionomers also excel in rigid packaging applications, offering outstanding stiffness, clarity, and gloss. Notable Grades of SURLYN™ Ionomers:
- SURLYN™ 1601 and SURLYN™ 1652: Ideal as a heat seal layer for meat adhesion/affinity, good seal through contamination, improved forming properties, and enhanced shrink-back for applications such as HFFS, VSP, BSB, processed meat and cheese packaging, and cereal liners.
- SURLYN™ 1652 and/or SURLYN™ 1605: Serve as a sealant layer with direct bond onto aluminium foil, oil, grease, and alcohol barrier, as well as good scratch and abrasion resistance in pouches, stick packs, and composite cans for soups, snacks, instant coffee, potato chips, and pharmaceutical packaging.
- SURLYN™ 1705 and/or SURLYN™ 1857: Provide adhesion or seal onto glass and ceramics in yoghurt, dessert, and spread packaging.
