Brand Information
Explore Xytron™
Xytron™ offers exceptional chemical resistance, dimensional stability, and is inherently flame retardant. It also provides high stiffness up to a glass transition temperature of 90°C, with a continuous use temperature (CUT) ranging between 240-260°C. Xytron™ is ideally suited for a wide range of automotive, electrical and electronic (E&E), and specialised industrial applications.
Xytron™ Portfolio Highlights:
- Hydrolysis Resistance: This class of materials is perfect for applications exposed to high heat and harsh chemicals, maintaining dimensional stability under these conditions.
- Food Contact and Drinking Water: This class of materials has global drinking water approvals, including NSF, KTW, WRAS, and ACS, and complies with FDA requirements for food contact applications. Ideal for high-pressure, hot water applications, these materials can be used at temperatures up to 95°C.
- High Impact: This class of materials is designed for applications requiring high impact resistance or those experiencing frequent temperature changes. These grades address brittleness issues common with standard PPS grades.
Hydrolysis Resistant Material
This group of materials is best suited for applications exposed to high heat and harsh chemicals, maintaining dimensional stability. Typical applications include coolant pump impellers, upper and lower portions of radiators, and exhaust gas pumping systems.
While PPS and glass are both known for hydrolysis resistance, the interface between glass and PPS can be a weak point in glass-reinforced PPS compounds during hydrolysis. Thanks to advanced bonding technology, Xytron™ G4080HR outperforms competitors’ materials, retaining around 80% of its initial strength after 3,000 hours of aging at 135°C.
